Gorgona and LAM to Combine Assets and Jointly Participate in IPO

Hamilton Resources, Ltd., the investment capital partner and one of the controlling shareholders of Gorgona Gold S.A.C., announced today that Gorgona is laying the initial groundwork to participate in an Initial Public Offering on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX) later this year.

Gorgona Gold S.A.C., a mineral exploration company based in Peru, and Latin American Mining (LAM), a Chilean copper producing company, intend to combine certain assets in order to list on the ASX.  Gorgona plans to transfer ownership of several mining concessions in Northern Peru to LAM in exchange for stock in LAM. 

The Gorgona projects slated to be combined into LAM are located in Northern Peru and are part of the Lancones Basin.  This particular area is host to five types of mineralization including: volcanic massive sulfides (VMS), Cu-Mo porphyries, Skarn deposits and Au-Ag epithermal deposits.  The Projects show hydrothermal alterations and related lithologies associated with the occurrence of an Au-Cu porphyry systems and Cu-Mo porphyry systems. The location in Northern Peru is relatively close to Yanacocha, the world’s 2nd largest gold deposit, and Fruta del Norte, a 6.8M ounce gold discovery to the North in Ecuador.
